Hi there

I am nineteen years old and i am scared i could have keratoconus

i am a heavy computer user, and have been using a computer since the age of 13

when i was about 17, i noticed i couldnt see things so well in the distance

my optician diagnosed me with mild myopia

what i forgot to mention to him, as i thought this was just part of it, is that at nighttime i have starbursts from lights and double vision

the double vision is worse at night than it is at day time

for example i see some text, and i'll see a messy ghost image of it underneath, but only slightly underneath like a shadow, then another ghost image under that, which is a bit more sharp than the ghost image above it

the 1st shadow is to the left, then the second shadow is more to the right

it's mainly in my left eye this occurs, and in my right eye it's mainly just blurred, not so much double vision

at night, if i see a small light in my room, like the little red light on the tv on standby or whatever, it has a slight starburst and a couple of other ghost images of the light on the tips of the starburts

it hasn't gotten much worse in the past year and a half or so, but it's concerning that it could be keratoconus

i have been to the optician since, and they diagnose my eyes as being healthy, just with a slight curve on the lens

my glasses are pretty weak, about -1 or something along those lines, and it gets rid of most of the ghosting and starburst (only a bit is left)

i know people say that it's probably not caused my computer, but i believe it is

nobody else in my family really has this, but some of my family are myopic

do you think i should limit my pc use, or is this keratoconus or just normal astigmatism

it may have got slightly worse in the past year or so, but nothing major that my glasses don't correct
