Its a clouding of the eye lense - My dog has them no to seriously now - but with time they usually get worse & go blind.. there is an operation you can have done on your pet to remove them but it is costly & the caterax can return.... Caterax can occur in any breed of dog , at any age - it can be genetic , or due to many other causes..
