Default Does anybody know if there are effective alternativies to cataract surgery?

Hello, I have cataract in both eyes despite beeing quite young (I'm in my early thirties). I would like very much to avoid surgery because of complications in my particular case. I have done many research on the Internet and I have found the following alternatives:
-Bates method and other eye exercises
-omeopathy (Eyebright drops, other herbs, etc)
- nutritional approach (vitamins, avoid certain food)

My big question is: Do they work? Have you had direct experience of anybody beeing cured with these alternative approaches?

Many thanks everyone!

There is no way to get rid of cataracts
other than surgery. A cataract is the
discoloration of your lens. It just turns
darker and darker until you cannot
see. the easiest and best way to get
rid of them is thru the new microsurgery
which uses a tiny incision and removes
the entire diseased lens and implants
a new lens that gives you perfect
vision and lasts a lifetime. You can
decide on either a close vision lens
or a far vision.
I have had one eye done and the other will be done in a couple weeks.
I elected far vision and I can see clearly
at a very long distance. There is relatively no healing period. The surgery takes about 1 hour and
you can use just local anesthetic
or general if you get panic attacks.

I don't know if there are any alternatives. Cataracts are cloudy lenses. I don't think there is anything you can do to fix it other than surgery. You should speak to your ophthalmologist about your questions.
