If you can go 24 hours without the contacts, try that and see if it clears up. If so, call the office and see if you can move up the appt on an emergency basis - contacts bothering and you need to see!

With pink eye, you have the symptoms you described, but you should get a more goopy discharge. Oftentimes, after you have slept this discharge will "glue" your eye shut. If you suspect pink eye, the easy home remedy my mom always used is milk. You warm the milk, soak a cloth with it, and put it on the eye applying firm, but not hard pressure. I use it too, and it works amazingly well. If you have access to breast milk, that works even better.

Hope it clears soon. Pink-eye, if it is that, is highly contagious. Just wash hands and don't touch the eye.

Pink Eye isn't just one infection, it refers to many different infections that cause the eye to be pink or red.

First, quit wearing your contacts until you get this resolved.

Second - Did you tell the Dr's office that you are having this problem? If you told them and they give you an appointment that far away then they don't care much about their patients.

I had a bad eye infection about 20 years ago and it took months to get it under control. So you really need an appointment now. Look in your insurance provider booklet and start calling other Ophthalmologist's. That is the one with more education and who also does surgery. An Optometrist can also give you something for infections.

I have psoriatic arthritis and we tend to get eye infections for some reason and my Internist writes me prescriptions but I don't know if your regular Dr. would do the same. You could certainly give your Dr's office a call and ask if he/she treats pink eye. I do know you are going to be told to not wear the contacts and only an eye Dr. will deal with your contacts. They may be ruined, I've no idea.

Your little girl won't get it if you wash your hands every time you've touched your face. If your eye's are weeping/tearing then your pillow case might be off limits to her too. Don't let her touch your face. You should probably not wear make up around your eye's and you may have to buy some new mascara.

Just keep your hands clean and try not to touch the area. I hope you get in somewhere soon. Good luck to you. Sometimes I wish there was a way for people like you to post a letter saying what happened later after you used the advice you asked for.
