Default Do you know a thing or two about pink eye?

Before bed last night, my eye turned on a faucet I didn't even know it had. It was just running like crazy (like tears - watery type stuff) and I had serious eye bugers too.

During the night when I would wake to potty, my eye seemed like it was glued shut. Same thing in the morning. It had some crusties also.

Throughout the day, my eye has been red and a bit swollen (thank goodness I was off today). Hasn't been itchy though, that's why I'm wondering if it could still be pink eye. It just feels a bit irritated. Hasn't been runny either.

I've been extremely careful to wash my hands a lot and not touch my eyes. I've sprayed everything down with lysol that I thought I touched last night.

And about going to the doctor (which seems obvious, right?) earlier this month I made an appointment to get checked for depression/anxiety and they couldn't get me in until Feb. 11 since I'm a new patient. Do you think if I call them and tell them I may have pink eye they'll schedule me now

As a former staffing coordinator at a major metropolitan hospital (I love how that sounds!) I can tell you that pink eye is one of the best things to call in sick for. It's highly contagious, looks terrible, and only lasts about a day. No nurse would dare expose a patient to it. Any way, by the time you return to work, it's all gone, and there's no proof you ever had it.

Just run water over it when you're in the shower. It'll clear up soon. Unless it's something else....

/ Yes, you need to have a doctor's prescription for pinkeye.

Once you take the drops, it will not spread to others, and your eye will begin to heal.

I was prescribed a 5 ml. bottle of GENTAMICIN SULFATE OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION made by Bausch & Lomb.

Once you take the medicine and it works, save the bottle for the next time. Unlike other medications, these pinkeye eyedrops will last for years.

def. pink eye. and do everything you can to keep it from spreading to both eyes. I let it spread, by not going to the doc. for a few days and touching my eyes too much and it took me a month to get rid of. I lost my job and that wasn't even the worst of it. I was so miserable. My eyes hurt so badly, the only time I had any relief was when I was in the shower so I showered 6 times a day. Go to the doc. any Doctor ASAP!!!
