Okay, I've had this problem since 2004. I've gone to a few optometrists to get it looked at and they've all told me it would get better within some weeks or months. We even tried those god-awful steroids... I haven't worn my contacts regularly since 2004 and perhaps 1 day out of the last year, but my conjunctivitis is still here! I wake up every morning with more than the normal amount of "sleep" in my eyes and my vision is slightly blurred from the mucous. I just wash it out, but this is excessively annoying, especially since I don't even wear the lenses anymore, only my glasses.

Maybe I should go see an optometrist AGAIN, but I'm afraid that I will just hear the same answer and see no results...also I'm without insurance right now.

Is there anything I could do regularly to fix this or am I screwed? Also, is there a possibility that this could cause permanent damage long-term?
