Default how can i tell if it's a corneal abrasion or conjunctivitis?

i took my contacts out and one eye is really red and sensitive to light and gets really teary. how can i tell if it's a corneal abrasion or an eye infection and how do i fix it?
also, i already went and saw the doctor and they gave me this eye drop stuff for conjuncivitis but from further reading, i think it might be a corneal abrasion because of the symptons but i'm not sure? what od i do?
