At most 4 days, but you will see a noticable difference in just 2 days. Make sure you finish your prescription. Also try Naphcon A it relieves symtoms at the first sign of them. It is cheap and it is over the counter and it's saves a trip to the doc. Make sure you wash your pillows, glasses, and bed sheets. Throw away any make-up that has touched the infected eye.

It usually takes about a week to clear up...using an antibiotic ointment (perscribed) works better because it doesnt ware off as easily.

The biggest thing you can do for pink eye is to not reinfect.
It is so very contageous and so easy to get infected with it, most people reinfect at least once before they are done with it the first time they have it. Disinfect surfaces you touch (don't forget the doorknobs and handles in your home and at work!!!) and be sure to always wash your hands immediately after touching your eyes. In fact, wash them more often than that as most people do not wash their hands nearly enough (If they did, the common cold would not be so common!).
After disinfecting, and washing hands, keep contact with your eyes to a minimum.
Since you have questions and you did not post which type of pink eye you have (allergy, bacterial, viral etc) I have posted a link for a WebMD article on pink eye.

Good luck, HTH

Conjunctivitis, otherwise known as "Pink Eye", can be very annoying in waiting for it to end. With medication and lubricants for your eyes, it'll take about 2-3 days for you to notice any difference. I'd say about a week normally for it to completely go away.

Hope that helps!

It is a viral disease which is prevalent due to dust. It affects the eyes mostly. U can use antibiotics to cure it.
