the doctor? I have high nearsightedness and have seen flashing lights 3 times in the last 2 weeks. The flashing lights don't last long only about a second and then they go away. Should i still go see a doctor about it? Can it be something serious? I have an appointment in about a week should i just wait till my appointment to see the eye doctor or should i go as soon as possible?

i would just wait... sometimes when i am tired that happens(im very naersighted also..)

I hope everything was ok for you but you should be aware that flashing lights are a known symptom of retinal detachments. I am very shortsighted (-20 both eyes) and have sufferred two retinal detachments as I was unaware of this symptom and thought it would 'go away'!
