Default Is being nearsighted a genetic disorder?

Me, my mother, my grandmother, my father, ect. all have eyesight problems. my father is the only one that is farsighted. I'm doing a report on genetic disorders and my mother says I should do it on nearsightedness. Is nearsightedness a genetic disorder?
