Default Has anyone been diagnosed with ocular migraines?

If so what did your doctor do for you?

I have, he prescribed vicodin. Every time my peripheral vision disappears, I take one (it is normally half an hour before my migraine hits). It generally takes the edge off.

Every once in a while, maybe once or twice a year, I get "electric" flashes in one eye, and a blind spot that darkens my vision and makes it very difficult to read. I had been to a doctor, who referred me to another doctor - both had thought it was something much worse, so I was happy to find out it was 'only' an ocular migraine! A relative of mine has regular migraines, with light/sound sensitivity and nausea, and those episodes are very painful and debilitating. My ocular migraines are very annoying but they're not actually painful and fade away after a week or two without any medication.Good luck!

Sorry about above post, I was having trouble with the sight. I'd written twice and neither went through. Of course it happens when I'm really wanting to share this! But here is some info I got and so far I believe it has helped me. I'm also on Propranolol but it's a low dosage. After I had my baby I started getting them bad, but I also experienced them as a teenager. Since starting on the meds in January, I've only had one breakthrough headache on Feb. 12th. It is now July 2nd. Will someone out there drink 6-8 glasses of water a day and take in a little bit of salt a day and let us know if you're still suffering? I would but I'm still on meds, and the dr. said she'd taper me off if I didn't have headaches anymore. I really believe this works:

Water
