No surgery is ever absolutely necessary if you don't want it. One of my favorite sayings is that no condition can't be made worse by performing surgery. Having said that this surgery is straight forward and would not be recommended unless it was interfering with your vision. It is not a life threatening condition but then this surgery is not too involved either. The question is why would you jeopardize your vision by not getting the surgery? Pterygiums are progressive and will not cease even if you use eye protection religiously. Ask questions. Ask your doctor if there are patients who have had the surgery that you can speak with. Perhaps these steps will help you feel more comfortable with the process. Good luck.

Honestly, its better you consult a specialist to find out what's best for you. I really want to help but I don't think I can give better answers than specialist do. Sorry.good luckLove is omnipresence, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
