Default can i safely get lasik with pingueculae?

i can not wear contacts anymore because of my pingueculae. I've had it in both eyes for almost ten years. I am tired of dealing with glasses. is lasik a safe option? My eyes are very dry and become swollen, bloodshot and irritated because of the pingueculae. I certainly don't want to make matters any worse. I'll live with glasses if lasik with pingueculae is not safe or recommended. Anyone know or have ever done it?
