How long is it before the eye settles down and the muscles stay in their new position? My eye is still sore.

Strabismus is a condition that varies greatly, because no two cases of strabismus are identical. I had surgery for mine after a slight strabism was magnified by a head injury.

Post op was only about a week of wearing an eye patch. It hurt really bad to make my eyes converge. I worried that the operation was a mistake and I had just let the surgeon ruin my vision for life. I'm glad to have recovered.

The eyes will adjust in time. You can't rush it. It's worth the wait because it's great to be able to see. If you eye is sore, they should have prescribed you an eye ointment that works very well.
