Default My wife seems to have problems with getting styes ?

It seems she gets a stye on either one of her eyelids quite freqently. She has threw away her old make-up and got new and still got one. Now its been three weeks since she has even had any make-up on, yet this weekend got another. Why and what can we do to prevent them as they are rather painful for her ??

If you have blepharitis then it is possible you will always have the tendency for it to return, at any time, although the severity of each attack may vary.
Good eye care is essential at all times to stop the condition occurring again, even when the symptoms are not visible. Symptoms will usually ease with the following:
Boil some water and let it cool for a while. Soak cotton wool in the hot (but not boiling) water and gently clean the eyelids for 2 3 minutes at a time and repeat the process as often as possible.Massage the eyelids by gently rolling your first finger on the eyelids in a circular motion as this helps to push out any of the mucus-like fluid from the tiny eyelid glands.Use a cotton bud to gently clean the edge of the lower lid to remove any crusts.Pull the top lid away from the eyeball, while looking in a mirror and clean gently.A few drops of baby shampoo in a half a cup of water makes a good cleaning solution but always squeeze out the cotton bud before use and wipe the eyes with clean water afterwards.
When the symptoms have gone, keep doing this routine once a day, every day, to prevent further flare-ups.
Occasionally a doctor will prescribe an antibiotic ointment or eye drops. If you are prescribed either of these:
Lie down or lean the head back and look up.Use a clean finger to gently pull down the lower lid to create a pocket. If you are using eye drops, gently squeeze the drops into the pocket youve created, not directly into the eye.If using ointment then apply a small strip into the pocket.Blink to spread out the medication over the eye.Rarely, antibiotic tablets are needed if antibiotic ointment or drops do not clear an infection.
Steroid ointments are usually avoided as treatment for blepharitis, as steroids in the eye have some potentially dangerous effects including glaucoma and perforation of the cornea. Only use these on the advice of an ophthalmologist who can ensure they are used safely.
Treating related conditions such as seborrhoeic dermatitis, which causes bad dandruff and other skin conditions of the face such as eczema and acne rosacea, may help to ease blepharitis.

She has to go see a doc for styes. They need antibiotics to treat them. Have her see a doc today. Also be sure she uses a fresh washcloth each time she washes her face and she should not wash the unaffected eye with the same wash cloth. For now have her see a doc to get this treated. Not sure why she thought she could treat these at home without seeing a doc.

www.righthealth.com
i wish her luck. the first stye was treated with a antibiodic and compresses by a reg. eye doctor. the 2nd stye was treated by a retinologist he said antibiodics are overly prescribed now a days and the compress would be enough. he was right.
