does anti-glare coating on eye glasses make them get scratched more easily?
I have glasses with anti-glare, and (presumably/I think) anti-scratch coatings on them. They are a couple of years old and badly scratched. My eye-sight hasn't changed (I have just had an expensive eye-check) so I don't need new glasses. However I am tossing up whether to get new glasses anyway - I think I should, but I'm worried about how expensive it'll be. If I do then I really really want to know how to prevent the new glasses from getting (too) scratched. I think I look after the glasses I have well (wash in detergent/warm water, try not to rub them dry or clean etc) - I am not sure how the scratches were made.
If you've tried both anti-glare glasses and glasses without anti-glare coating, please let me know if you noticed a difference between them (more scratches or same).
