Default Polycarbonate Disadvantages?

I've seen general references that polycarbonate lenses are "optically inferior" to other materials. However, I haven't seen any specifics. I am considering polycarbonate for sunglasses because of their impact resistance and thinness. My prescription is:

OD -1.00 +0.25 x 160
OA -1.00 +0.25 x 045

Can anyone explain what the optical disadvantages of poloycarbonate lens are and whether they are something I would notice given my prescription.

Default Re: Polycarbonate Disadvantages?

poly is fabulous material. If you get them as polarized, it'll be a fabulous sunglass. It's what I wear.
