...3D. What's going on? Is it healthy? Occurs when text of different colors appears on a colored background. Black and white text on a red background make the effect quite pronounced. The perscription on these lenses is (supposed to be) the same as on my older pair. Will continued wearing of these glasses hurt my eyes?

i agree with the first person to go back and tell them to see if they can fix it. possibly they got the wrong prescription. go asap.
do you wear bifocals? if so they could have gotten the bottom (bifocal part) not aligned in the right place. (experience)

you need to call your optomotrist and tell her/him. Then take them back. Sounds like your glasses are too strong or too weak.

Until then, take them off. You could get headaches
