Default Is it true that even if you wear glasses, your eyes still get worse?

An that it stop when you're in your 20s? I have just gotten glasses a month ago, and, it always hurts to wear them. (Because it squeezes my temples.) So I was wondering if it would be okay whether I wear them or not.

Have them adjusted so they don't squeeze your temples...

Well, your eyes change accouring to your heredity and health, not by influence of your glasses so much. If your glasses hurt you , you need to go back to where you got them and have them adjusted to fit you correctly, it can be done! (I do it 8 hours a day!) Then ask them how much your eyes changed from last time you were examined and kind of keep track of if you have a lot of change or if it is slowing down. Our bodies can change into our twenties due to developement, then after they get stable you can change more just becuase it would be time for change. Mine changed radically for years until I was about 22, then I was pretty stable until 25 when I had my daughter, then they changed a bit due to hormonal changes. Then, they stayed stable for many years, over 10. I am in my 40's and theyhave changed both in distance and near every year for 3 years. This is normal for my age. So, it never really stops! Even if you have lasik, your eyes will chiange if they were supposed to at that given time.

You will not be okay not wearing them and you DO need to get them adjusted properly. Make sure to wear them and when you go to get them adjusted the frame person will be able to see where the pressure points are rubbing and squeezing you at and make the right changes. No your eyes do not stop getting worse in your 20's but they do slow on the proggresion drasticaly. It also depends on what is causing your vision problems. Your eyes then start to pick up speed on getting worse in your later years sooner depending on how much you abuse them. ie: not wearing sunglasses, to much strain, .....

You do need to get them adjusted. Glasses should be comfortable, not painful. Glasses or contacts don't keep your eyes from getting better or worse. It depends on what type of vision problem you have if it will get worse. If you're nearsighted, which most people are, the focus point of your eyes is too far back, and as you get taller this will get worse. When you stop growing it stops getting worse. However if you're farsighted (able to see far away only) your vision will get better as you grow. My vision stabilized when I was 14 because that was when I stopped growing, and I've had the same prescription ever since then, so you don't necessarily have to wait till you're in your 20's.

Not sure if it stops in your 20's but I wear glasses and my eyes are getting worse. Get yours adjusted.
