Default Prescription-free eyeglasses?

Can you go to lenscrafters and buy frames with a prescription free lens? Or does anyone know of any stores that sell eyeglass frames with no prescription.. just as a fashion accessory i guess.

absolutely! I work in an optical lab and am always making plano(non-rx) glasses. Many people just want them as a fashion accessory. In fact most people look good in the right glasses. It's very common these days. However the demo lenses in the frame quite often will have the name of the manufacturer on them that can't easlily be removed without destroying the lens so you will probably have to pay to put non-rx lenses in. (these will look much better than the demos anyway)

yes, you can purchase frames without a prescription in the lenses. A lot of people do this now adays just for the fashion. most any eye doctors office will sell glasses you can purchase from them. They can put "plano" leneses (lenses without script) into your frame. Or you could go to a fashion store such as Macy's. I know they sell them where I am from. Or just search around the mall. I'm sure you will find them.

What is it with people! The ones who wear glasses all want contacts or laser surgery so they don't have to wear them and people with perfect vision want to wear glasses when they don't need them! Too bad people can't trade eyes; I'd be glad to trade you mine (then you could get real glasses)!

Seriously, if you're going to get no perscription glasses check with the people who work there to see if the "display lenses" are optically correct enough to wear long term. If they have distortion, it won't hurt your eyes, but you might get headaches etc. I'm not certian how much work they put into those display lenses, because people only have them on for a few minutes in the store to see how geeky they will look before buying a particular frame. They can make real lenses (with no power) for you if necessary.
