Default I have single vision lenses for distance vision - when would I need to wear my

glasses? I had an eye test last week and have been prescribed glasses as i have astigmatism in my left eye. The Prescription is a very small one, but i was told by my optician to wear my glasses when i am on the computer, reading, driving (i.e. when doing concentrated tasks). I am alittle confused as when i have researched i have always found that it's either one or the other. My prescription is for distance vision, so you would assume i need them to drive and see distant writing, rather than reading. But i have been told to wear them for both.

Can anyone please shed some light on this issue, or if you are in the same position if you wear glasses.

Thanks
