I wear Acuvue 2 contact lenses, can I extend their "life" by not wearing them daily?

I only got contacts to wear when I play sports. On a daily basis I wear my glasses. The Acuvue 2 should be replaced every two weeks, but if I only wear them once a week can I wear them longer than two weeks?
