Default Contact Lens solution problems?

My friend put in a lens without rinsing off the disinfectent solution. He had a blood shot eye for about a day but the next he had some weird bumps at the back of his head and they hurt.

Has anyone out there experienced this? Are the bumps related to the lens issue in any way or is it just coincidence?
Thanks all! I guess it's obvious I know nothing about the eye/lens situation. I feel re-assured that it ISN'T the lens incident...but it was really weird how they just appeared after this horrifying ordeal with the lens. They seem quite soft, almost fluidic - and they hurt too.

I just need to convince him to see a doc!!!
