Default Do you HAVE to get your eyes measured before you buy color contacts?

Will it ruin my vision over time or something? My mom won't let me get them as a present, because she thinks its dangerous.

P.S. I dont need them for my vision.

No, they should be fine.

Mine are prescribed and they help me see lol

But if you are going to get play ones you have to make sure you clean them with the eye soloution before you put them in you're eye.
and dont let them dry up you have to keep them in solotion when there not in you're eye.

Edit: Wtf no you dont have to get you're eye measured are you mad? you obviously dont know anything about contacts, everyone's pupils are roughly the same size so one size fits all, iv'e been a contact lense wearer for 12 years so..

You definatly dont need your eyes measured, the part that the lense actually sits on is roughly the same size on everyone.
Dont listen to idiots saying you do, they shouldnt answer questions if they dont know... They're wasting everyones time.
In short, the answer to your question in "no"
But when you get the lenses, make sure you take them out everynight to soak in contact lense saline solution (to clense, rehydrate them, and to get rid of bacteria and protein that will build up during wear.)
If you do happen to get an eye infection during the time you wear your lenses, you will need to not wear them while you have the infection, and when you go back to wearing them use a NEW set, the old ones will just re-infect your eye.
Ensure you look after your lenses as directed, and don't pro-long the use after the recommended time.
Good luck!

You need to get them measured for *any* contacts. They're dangerous if you don't keep them clean, or if you're sensitive to them.

yes you have to get your eyes measured...that way the contacts fit to your eye...you cant wear to big to or small contacts....no matter what color you wear the DR has to measure your eye, and yes it will damage your pupil if you dont have the right size ... walmart is good at sizing and prices. Be Careful!
